Mr. Jimé Alexander Essink Director, VNU Exhibitions Europe Chairman, VNU Exhibitions Asia

Jimé Essink has studied private and commercial law in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He started his career with NV Databank, where he was responsible for different projects in the fields of international trade promotion, business information and advertising. Consequently he joined Miller Freeman (Expoconsult at that time) as Managing Director of the Dutch office in Maarssen for seven years. This office (45 employees) was responsible for the very successful international food ingredients and pharmaceutical ingredients shows in Europe, Asia, South- and North America and other international shows in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

His next job was managing director OgilvyOne connections, part of Ogilvy & Mather, a company with 300 employees involved in telemarketing, call centers, database management and e-commerce.

Jimé joined VNU Exhibitions Europe (formerly Jaarbeurs Exhibitions & Media) in November 1998. As director he is responsible for the exhibition business in the Netherlands (around 50 titles) and Asia/China (around 20 titles). He is also Chairman of the board of VNU Exhibitions Asia.
